Book Talk at SOAS University with Jason Pack

Join us at SOAS University in the Khalili Lecture Theatre on Friday 9th of June, 5pm for a discussion of Jason Pack’s seminal ‘Libya and the Global Enduring Disorder’, featuring Jason Pack, John McHugo and Tim Eaton.

Jason Pack's Libya and the Global Enduring Disorder (Hurst/Oxford University Press) is the first book about post-Qadhafi Libya by a Western expert to be translated into Arabic. To commemorate the occasion, Jason Pack will appear in conversation with John McHugo (Author of A Concise History of the Arabs and Syria: A Recent History, Board Member of the Council for British-Arab Understanding/CAABU) and Tim Eaton (Senior Research Fellow specializing in Libya at Chatham House) at SOAS University of London, June 9th 2023 at 5pm in the Khalili Lecture Theatre.

Moderator John McHugo will pose questions to help contextualise the book and the application of its conceptual framework in the light of ongoing and evolving geopolitical tensions and conflict in Ukraine and Sudan Jason and discussant Tim Eaton will delve into the current situation in Libya and what light the book sheds on that post-conflict state's trajectory.

Jason Pack recently appeared on AlJazeera Inside Story to give his take on the troubling developments in Libya and Sudan, and also appeared as keynote speaker at the Tunis International Book Fair earlier in the month, which you can watch here.
